270 Sketches of 111 different South American species from the Collection Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales 'Bernardino Rivadavia'
After my field trip to Brazil together with Dr. Hubert Höfer, Dr. Alexandro Bonaldo and Dr. Antonio Brescovit in 1996 I had the possibility to visit Prof. Dr. Maria Elenda Galiano at the MACN in Buenos Aires. I stayed about 2 weeks in her team together with Martin Ramirez and Christina Scioscia to get a deeper insight in neotropical Salticidae. It was a wonderful time, and Maria gave me the possibility to study the Museum Collection contains so many type material and also some surprises following the info on the labels:
- ♀ not described until now: Acragas mendax, Chapoda panamana, Ocnotelus imberbis, Paradecta valida, Semora langei, Stenodeza foestiva, Tariona bruneti
- ♂ not described until now: Semnolius albofasciatus
- no illustrations published so far: ♂,♀ Itata isabellina, ♀ Stenodeza acuminata
I was busy making sketches of a large number of the species present, which have now been stored in my files since that time. Finally I decided now to publish them in my homepage - perhaps usable for other colleagues working with neotropical Salticidae. All drawings are included also in the systematic part of the page...
